Ikaika Pidot is a Hanalei-based maternity photographer who has photographed expectant parents all over Kauai since 2019, from beachside and garden sessions to babymoon portraits. One-hour maternity sessions start at $950 and include full delivery of your Kauai maternity photos within 15 business days. Most of my clients are couples visiting Kauai on a babymoon, so I plan around your travel dates, even if you are earlier than 24 weeks.

Kauai Maternity Photoshoot Locations
Warm golden light, jungle-green peaks and a wide sandy beach make Hā’ena a favorite for sunset maternity portraits. Summer water is usually calm enough for wading shots, and winter swells can be large, so I’ll help you pick a date and time that works.
Hanalei Bay’s long crescent beach and misty mountains are ideal for flowing-gown maternity and babymoon portraits. I’m based in Hanalei, so I know how the light moves across the bay through the year and when it flatters your bump most.
Golden cliffs and open ocean on the sunnier South Shore give maternity portraits a bold, dramatic backdrop. It’s also a dependable alternative during winter months when North Shore weather turns.

To begin the process, please fill out the form on my contact page or write me an email. Please include your due date, when you’ll be on Kauai, and a little about the look and locations you have in mind.

Upon receiving an inquiry from you, I will send over a price sheet detailing process and package information. If none of these packages are quite what you are looking for, I’d be happy to build a custom package based on your needs.

Once a standard or customized package has been chosen,I will send instructions on putting down a deposit to book the date of the event, as well as contracts for my services.

I have found it valuable for me to get to know my clients a little bit before their big day, so via zoom, phone, or in person, I’d like to chat with you about your vision for the event, as well as other needs or preferences you may have.

You can book whenever you like. Most moms-to-be prefer to shoot between about 24 and 36 weeks, when the bump is full and you are usually still comfortable moving around, but I regularly photograph couples earlier than that, so don’t worry if your babymoon falls before 24 weeks. Reach out as soon as your travel dates are set so we can lock in a date and time that works. Share your due date and trip dates and we will find the right window together.

I deliver a link to all of your hand-edited images within 15 business days of your session. A one-hour session includes 35+ edited images. You will be able to view, download and share your gallery with family and friends, so you can celebrate your pregnancy and your new arrival.

Most maternity sessions are scheduled in the last hour or two before sunset, when the light is soft and golden and the beaches are cooler and less crowded. That is easier on mom, too. During your consultation I will help you pick the best time and location based on your date, the season and the weather.

Flowing gowns, fitted stretchy dresses, a simple swimsuit or a lightweight cover-up all photograph beautifully in Kauai’s light and breeze. Solid colors and soft fabrics that move well work especially nicely, and a flower crown or lei adds a lovely local touch. We will talk through outfit ideas during your consultation based on your location and time of day.

Yes. Most of my maternity sessions are babymoons for couples visiting Kauai, and partners and children are always welcome. I will guide you through easy, natural poses, and we can capture solo portraits, couple portraits and family moments in the same session.

Rain showers are common on the Garden Isle and often pass quickly. I watch the forecast and radar before your session, and if the weather looks rough we’ll talk through options like adjusting the time or moving to a drier part of the island, such as the South Shore.

If you prefer to not pose, I will position myself throughout the session to capture candid, authentic moments. My goal is to prepare myself as much as I can before the session without causing you any unnecessary stress or extra work.
