Photographing an intimate Haena beach wedding
Haena Beach on Kauai’s North Shore is one of the island’s most beautiful places to say I do, with golden sand, clear water and green mountains rising behind the shoreline. This couple chose a small ceremony with just eight guests, a ring of flowers on the sand, and leis that set the tone for a warm, relaxed evening.
With a guest list this small, there is plenty of time for portraits before and after the ceremony. We explored the beach and the tropical greenery nearby, which gave the gallery a mix of open ocean views, mountain backdrops and quiet, close moments between the couple. Small weddings like this let me focus on candid emotion rather than a tight schedule.
