Kilauea Estate Rainy Day Wedding Photography, Kauai
This 190-guest wedding took place at a private estate in Kilauea on Kauai’s North Shore, and although rain fell all day, we still captured beautiful photos between the showers. Browse the gallery below, then learn about my Kauai wedding photography.
Photographing a rainy wedding at a Kilauea private estate
Kilauea sits on Kauai’s lush North Shore, where private estates open onto wide lawns framed by towering palms. This wedding gathered 190 guests among the trees, and the misty, green setting gave the whole day a deeply tropical feel.
Showers moved through all day, but a clear umbrella and a flexible timeline kept the celebration going. Between downpours we slipped out for portraits on the lawn, laughing together under the umbrella, and the groomsmen hoisted the groom for a playful group shot. The soft, overcast light made the greens and the bright blue suits stand out.
If the forecast worries you, I will help you build a backup plan that keeps your photos beautiful. Learn more about my Kauai wedding photography or add wedding videography to capture the day in motion.
“Ikaika was our photographer for our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and he was amazing. He has a very chill and calming presence, which was important to us because neither one of us is super comfortable taking photos. Also, it poured almost the entire day of our wedding, which meant a lot of things had to be tweaked to accommodate the weather. Ikaika rolled with punches, again staying chill the whole time, and captured so many beautiful photos despite the weather challenges. I’m so incredibly grateful we found him and would highly recommend using him as your photographer. Thank you, Ikaika!”
