Photographing a Barking Sands Beach wedding

Barking Sands Beach near Kekaha sits on Kauai’s sunny West Side, with wide open sand, ocean breezes and some of the best sunsets on the island. For this wedding, 80 guests gathered for a beachfront ceremony under a hexagon arch of coral, peach and tropical greenery.

A larger wedding is a great fit for this location, because the open beach gives everyone room and leaves plenty of space for portraits, details and a golden hour finish. I cover the ceremony, family photos, couple portraits and the little details, from florals and signage to rings and invitations.
