Photographing a sunset elopement in Poipu

This elopement paired two very different looks on Kauai’s South Shore. We started at Shipwreck Beach, where golden sandstone cliffs, sandy coves and rolling waves make a dramatic backdrop for the ceremony and portraits.

From there we moved to Kiahuna, where black lava rocks add rich contrast to the white dress and bright bouquet. This is a great pairing for a two-hour session, because you get a big range of photos, and the sunset is even better at Kiahuna since it faces more west.

“Cannot say enough good thinks about Ikaika! We eloped in Hawaii, and he was recommended to us, and it was great intel. He clearly has an eye for detail, walked us through great poses, knew the best time for lighting and location. Just look at his portfolio, his work speaks for itself!”
